DOMUS 2.0: A WHOLE-BUILDING HYGROTHERMAL SIMULATION PROGRAM


Recent advances in mathematical models, computerrnprocessors and OOP compilers have been motivatingrnthe development of the Domus program for wholebuildingrnhygrothermal simulation. The Domusrnprogram for simulation of multi-zone buildings hasrnbeen developed in c++ language under C++ Builderrnenvironment, which is a fast and precise easy-to-userncompiler. The program is available on the PCrnplatform under Windows 9x and NT operatingrnsystems. The user interface consists of a series ofrnwindows in which the user can enter the relevantrninput data and review the results. The user can movernbetween other applications when the Domusrnsimulations are running and several Domus projectsrncan be open and running at the same time due to thernindependence of the graphical interface and thernthermal simulation engine. Domus projects with allrntheir input information and results may be saved andrnreopened. The Domus former version allows therncalculation of building thermal and energyrnperformance, neglecting moisture effects. In thisrnDomus version, the interface has been considerablyrnimproved so that simulations can be performed in arnvery-easy way. Additionally, the Umidus programrnfeatures have been inserted into the Domus code,rnallowing it to take moisture effects into account. InrnConclusion, Domus interface is presented and arnhygrothermal simulation of a 3-storey building inrndiscussed.......
